What is Wellness OCT?
OCT stands for optical coherence tomography. A wellness OCT uses light to create a detailed, cross-section view of the layers of your retina and optic nerve, along with retinal photos. A retinal exam lets Dr. Larson look closely at these structures for early signs of glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and other conditions.
How does it work?
You look at a target while the Topcon Maestro takes a scan. Nothing touches your eye and it only takes moments. Dr. Larson reviews the images with you and saves them, so future scans can be compared to catch small changes over time. Wellness OCT is offered with eye exams for patients 18 and older.
What are the benefits?
- Early detection, often before you notice symptoms
- A saved baseline to compare at future visits
- Quick and comfortable, nothing touches your eye
- Images you can see and talk through with Dr. Larson
catch changes early with a wellness OCT
Many eye diseases develop quietly. Adding a wellness OCT to your exam gives Dr. Larson a far more detailed view than an exam alone, and a record of your eye health to track year after year.

Who can have a wellness OCT?
It is offered with eye exams for patients 18 and older.
