What is OptiLight?

OptiLight is an intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment by Lumenis, the first and only IPL FDA-approved to manage dry eye disease due to meibomian gland dysfunction. It reduces ocular, periocular and facial inflammation, including ocular rosacea and rosacea-related facial redness, and helps reduce the bacteria and Demodex mites that can aggravate the eyelids.

How does it work?

Your eyes are protected with shields and a cooling gel is applied below the eyes. Precise pulses of light treat the area in about 15 minutes. Treatments are done as a series, often with gland expression, and there is no downtime.

What are the benefits?
  • Treats a root cause of dry eye, not just symptoms
  • Calms inflammation around the eyes and face
  • Can reduce rosacea-related facial redness
  • Quick sessions with no downtime
