If your lower lids have started to sag or your eyes look tired no matter how much you sleep, you may have looked into a blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery. OptiLIFT by Lumenis is a non-surgical blepharoplasty alternative that mimics that lifted look with no incisions and no downtime. It is coming to Eye See Eye and Facial Wellness in Green Bay in late November.
Why lids start to sag
According to Lumenis, skeletal muscle loses 3 to 8 percent of its mass each decade after age 30. As the muscle around the eye weakens, the lower lid loses its support. That can cause lid laxity and a tired look, and it can also lead to an incomplete blink.
How OptiLIFT lifts the lid
OptiLIFT uses Dynamic Muscle Stimulation, or DMSt. Gentle electrical pulses trigger the nerve signals that make the muscles around the eye contract. Over a series of sessions, that exercise tones and tightens the area, working against the natural sag that comes with age.
How it helps dry eye
Your eyelids hold tiny oil glands called meibomian glands, and every full blink presses that oil onto your tears. OptiLIFT adds radiofrequency that warms the lids to help melt thickened oil, while a stronger blink helps it flow. That is why OptiLIFT pairs so well with OptiLight IPL for dry eye care.
Before and after

What a session feels like
- An applicator designed for the delicate eye area is placed over the treatment zone
- You feel rhythmic muscle contractions and soft warmth
- There are no needles and no incisions
- A typical course is four sessions, with no downtime
Is it right for you?
OptiLIFT is not for everyone. It is not used for people with pacemakers, defibrillators, other implanted electronic devices or metal implants in the treatment area. Significant excess skin may still be better served by surgery. Dr. Larson will look at your lids, your blink and your eye health and tell you honestly what will help.
